(1) The important symbol of heavy-duty AGV is its heavy load and high technical difficulty. AGVs can carry as little as a few tons and as heavy as a few hundred tons. As the carrying capacity increases, the difficulty of navigation control, mechanical design, and safety protection of AGVs greatly increases. This undoubtedly requires higher comprehensive capabilities from AGV manufacturers.
(2) Security. Safety is a very important assessment indicator for heavy-duty AGVs used in industrial factories and outdoor environments. The safety of heavy-duty AGVs operated by unmanned vehicles in industrial use should meet the ISO 3691 standard. Safety measures should be designed according to the PL category and should be equipped with emergency stop, contact protection devices, non-contact protection devices (with safety certification), operation indicator lights, sound alarms, brakes Stall protection function and safety protection of the actuator.
(3) Speed. When a heavy-duty AGV is fully loaded, its volume is large and its weight is very large, so its operating speed is generally below 0.5m/s. This is mainly determined by factors such as the operating environment of the heavy-duty AGV and the braking distance after an emergency stop. It is not recommended that the heavy-duty AGV operate at a speed greater than 0.5m/s during operation.
(4) Widely used. Heavy-duty AGVs can be applied to almost all scenarios with heavy cargo or component handling or assembly. This weight of other goods or components, whether it is lifting, transportation, or assembly, is a challenge. The use of AGV can reduce the lifting frequency of workpieces and improve system safety, especially in transportation and assembly applications.
